The dark side of Magnetic Lashes

Magnetic Lashes and accessories on a wooden table

Yes, magnetic lashes can look fabulous and add drama, glitz and allure to your features but there are downsides that you should be aware of:

  1. A magnetic false eyelash doesn’t bend. As a consequence, some first time wearers report finding it disconcertingly hard to blink their eyes. As magnetic lashes are inflexible it means that what you see in the photos and on the packaging is what you will get. As such, depending on the shape of your eyes, magnetic false eyelashes can sometimes look slightly unnatural.
  2. Magnetic lashes are difficult to adjust. When you have them in-situ on your eyes, their lack of bend makes it difficult to make adjustments. Once fixed into position you need to proceed carefully when making any adjustments.
  3. There is a reason why the price of some magnetic lashes appear so inexpensive. The quality of manufacture and materials can be poor and when close up the flaws are apparent and obvious to even the casual observer. Only buy reputable brands and read the reviews before you purchase.
  4. The incorrect use of magnetic lashes can cause eye infections. False lashes are not a permanent/ everyday solution. You should not wear your lashes when sleeping, you should always use make-up remover and you should never let your friends borrow your lashes. Eye infections (conjunctivitis, for example) are highly contagious.
